Join Melissa and our amazing guest teachers for immersive and engaging learning opportunities this summer! We offer both afternoon and full-day camps.

Afternoon/Half-Day Camps

Half-day camps meet for 4 afternoons: Monday through Thursday, 1 pm - 3:30 pm. Click on a session name to enroll.

Two sessions!
Ages 6-10 (June 17 - June 20)
Ages 4 - 7 (July 29 - August 1)

Explore the arts at Sigh Studio this summer! This highly engaging 4-day long summer camp is uniquely designed to be fun while building musical and artistic skills. With multiple instructors, students will work in small groups and receive personalized instruction in expressive movement, fine arts, and music.

Each day of camp, students will receive instruction in creative movement, ukulele, singing/general music-making, and fine arts. Ukulele and art classes will be separated into small groups depending on age and skill level.

Fine arts: Students receive small-group instruction as they explore multiple art media. Student projects will come home at the end of the camp. All materials provided.

Creative movement: Student dances are accompanied by imaginative stories and creative instruction that encourage all students to participate.

Ukulele: students receive small-group ukulele instruction (with groups divided based on prior ukulele experience). All music provided.

Singing and music-making: students use classroom instruments (such as boomwhackers, drums, and egg shakers) and movement props to gain familiarity with songs for singing and playing on the ukulele

Ages 5-9

Explore the expressive and imaginative worlds of puppetry, storytelling, and music! Students will learn to use imagery, aspects of storytelling, anatomy, and free dance to explore mindful movement and creative expression. Students will explore the joyful, magical world of puppetry and storytelling through a rich exploration of materials, props, and games!

Each day of camp, students will receive instruction in storytelling, puppet creation, pupetteering, ukulele, and singing/general music-making.

Full-day camps meet for 3 days: Monday through Wednesday, 10 am - 3 pm. Click on a session name to enroll.

Songwriting Camp

Ages 8 - 16

Write your own songs to further your creative expression as a musician. In a supportive environment, receive songwriting instruction, create original songs, and share new material with peers.  This camp will focus on multiple elements of songwriting, including:

  • chord progressions

  • lyrics and rhyming

  • melody creation

  • music theory

  • music technology (and how it is useful for songwriting)

Each day of camp, students will learn songwriting strategies and participate in large-group brainstorming. Students will also receive small group and individual instruction with the support of local songwriters and songwriting coaches.

July 15- July 17 (Monday through Wednesday)
10 am - 3:00 pm

Ages 7-13

Learn how to use technology to further your creative expression as a musician! This camp experience offers hands-on experiences exploring computer-based and device-based:

  • song composition

  • multitrack and live recording

  • mixing audio

  • video production

This camp is uniquely designed to engage your young musician while building basic technical skills and providing expert instruction in the concepts that make recordings sound great and videos look sharp.

Each day of camp, students will receive instruction in ukulele (or guitar for continuing students), general music-making, and music technology.

Technology lessons will include: 1) instruction in applying principles of audio and video production to common devices (including cell phones and tablets) - students are welcome to bring their own devices in addition to using Sigh Studio gear; 2) using apps to compose and record music, and 3) guided opportunities for recording and composing original songs

Music lessons will focus on students learning, composing, and practicing songs they can record and utilize during music technology lessons.
